Here are some of Muchos Pantaloons' thoughts from that season:
the first half is two pianicas playings pentatonics and hanamura playing the common upper-structure … at the latter half roles get reversed .. hanamura moves among 3 pentatonics and results into ryukyu lines which is a fake of sanshin instrument of “eisa” dancings … two pianica is playing the same role but not syncronized .. i mean .. each of them are independent instance of song1.class
this may sound like an ensemble but the structure is too simple … it's nothing more than a chord progression … maybe i tend to end up like this because i start from recording a cajon pattern? … i think i should get more serious about how to let several instances of songs move around their complicated orbits
watching sazi playing the pattern on his mvira found out that his left hand was keeping the same line … so i places the peti-pan on the left and glockenspiel on the right to play them together … couldn't get skillfull enough to put funny variations on the right so made up my mind to play the rhythm in a flabby way … was having somethang thai in mind .. kalimba part was composed to make harmony with pan .. hanamura is trying to take the pattern of these small instruments as a transition of common upper structure chords
went to the park with 7 empty bottles and did the multitrack recordings … this was to me like replacing each djembe to a bottle .. am planning to restructure song4 to somethang suitable to today's special (=random) tunings but still the methods are not declined … so while putting the vocals .. just tested things like “consentrate to one note and make a harmony to it” and “listen to the whole pattern and make a note on them”
wanted to do a multitrack thang with several vinyl-tubes … but no plans related to song4 … became flabby so added 2 etetric kalimbas as some spices … i like this but this has almost nothing to do with song4 … maybe will add some vocals or a plaintalk singings to this …
wanted to test what it would be if i went multitrack with my randomly tuned box-harp .. and this time thangs from the contact pickup went directly to the mtr … if i don't record some singings based on this pattern this will have nothing to do with song4
was wondering what would happen some groups of instances of a certain song behaved independently to each other .. came up with two coconut kalimba … sun-kalimba combined with pianica to repeat a pattern … moon-kalimba got together with andes … so this became somethang like a polytonal .. hanamura is acting a role as an independent instance
